The truth, nothing more, nothing less

In 1999, Avid came out of nowhere with the Acutus turntable.

At a time when turntables were either low mass suspended or high mass supensionless designs and low power motors - Avid combined the suspension and high mass together with a high torque motor in the Acutus and joined the elite among high end turntable manufacturers. The Acutus was stunningly compact and elegant compared to unnecessarily large and complicated turntables. Unlike most suspended turntables which require complicated time consuming setup (and considerable hair pulling) - it can be refreshingly assembled (and disassembled) within a few minutes.

The sound is just like the turntable’s dignified appearance - there is no excess whatsoever but just pure polished precision and unadulterated expression.

Avid has since came up with the Sequel, Volvere, and Diva II which are more affordable versions of the Acutus employing trickle down technologies and basically the same philosophy and ease of use.

For their 10th year anniversary - Avid has a special limited edition Anniversary turntable which is the Acutus further refined and brought ever closer to the truth.
